As a Design Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our projects are not only feasible but also sustainable and cost-effective.

What you'll do
- Develop and refine design specifications for solar energy systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to create detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- advanced CAD software to create 3D models and technical drawings of solar installations, ensuring precision and accuracy in design.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate the suitability of locations for solar projects, including analyzing environmental impacts.
- Perform simulations and analyses to optimize system performance, including energy yield assessments and structural integrity evaluations.
- Prepare and present design proposals to stakeholders, clearly articulating the benefits and technical aspects of proposed solutions.
- Work closely with procurement teams to identify and source materials and components that align with project specifications and budget constraints.
- Participate in the installation process by providing technical support and guidance to field teams, ensuring that designs are implemented correctly.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in solar energy design, incorporating new knowledge into ongoing projects.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including design reports, operation manuals, and maintenance guidelines.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure that all designs meet local, state, and federal requirements for solar energy systems.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance design processes and increase efficiency within the engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) for creating detailed design models and drawings.
- Strong understanding of solar energy systems, including photovoltaic technology and energy storage solutions.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to solar energy design and installation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about design challenges.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Nice to have
- Experience with project management software and tools to track project progress and resource allocation.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and energy efficiency measures.
- Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or similar credentials.

- Experience in conducting site assessments and feasibility studies for solar projects.
