Key facts
What you'll do
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to execute solar installation projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Install and connect solar panels, inverters, and other electrical components while following all safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct site assessments to determine the best placement for solar installations, taking into account environmental factors and building specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues that may arise during installation or maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including installation details, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in the training and onboarding of new team members, sharing best practices and safety procedures.
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored, reporting any malfunctions or needs for repair to management.
- Work collaboratively with other trades, such as roofers and construction teams, to ensure project execution.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal electrical codes and regulations, maintaining compliance throughout all projects.
- Engage with clients to provide updates on project progress and address any questions or concerns they may have.
- Participate in post-installation inspections to verify system performance and address any necessary adjustments.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in the solar energy sector, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
- Valid electrician's license or certification in the state of California.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and safety protocols related to solar installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and clients.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions, including lifting heavy equipment and working at heights.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites across Orange County.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
Nice to have
- Experience with battery storage systems and other renewable energy technologies.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools used in the solar industry.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a construction or electrical team.
- OSHA certification or other relevant safety training credentials.
- Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are a plus for effective communication with diverse teams and clients.
