GTM Strategy and Operations
Job description
About Base
Base operates as America's next-generation power company. The mission is to rebuild the foundation of modern civilization by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries. This work transforms today's fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. The team consists of engineers, operators, and creatives who solve some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time. Every member is dedicated to this fundamental reconstruction of energy infrastructure.
About the Role
Base is seeking a Strategic Ops generalist to drive aggressive growth. This position is not predefined; it is a seat for a builder who sees what needs to happen and makes it happen. Responsibilities will evolve based on business needs, and the role may expand or change at any time. One month you might be standing up a new market launch. The next, you are building the system that makes that first launch scalable. You will work across every surface of the growth motion-new channels, new geographies, and new products-owning the execution end to end.
What You Will Do
Launch new markets, open new channels, and own the operational infrastructure required for scale. This includes systems, processes, reporting, and enablement structures.
Identify bottlenecks in the growth motion and build the fixes, whether that involves a process change, an automation, or new tooling.
Translate complex data into clear narratives and concrete actions for Sales, Growth, and leadership teams.
Lead cross-functional initiatives from design to execution, keeping timelines tight and priorities on track.
Create reporting structures that expose patterns, risks, and wins so teams can adjust before problems escalate.
Coordinate with partners to align incentives, clarify handoffs, and keep growth initiatives synchronized across teams.
Shape scope as you go, defining your responsibilities while balancing speed, clarity, and follow-through.
Translate raw metrics into stories that help teams understand impact and choose the next best move.
What You Will Bring
A track record of figuring things out in fast-moving, under-defined environments where the path forward is not always clear.
Equal comfort in a spreadsheet, a member conversation, and a product spec, with the ability to switch contexts without losing momentum.
An instinct to treat gaps as opportunities, not problems for someone else to solve.
A habit of moving fast and starting work before receiving explicit instructions.
A need to build solutions, not just advise, and to define your own scope as you advance.
About the Team
The Growth team sets the pace for how fast Base can deliver affordable, reliable power to the people who need it. The team operates as one unit across marketing, sales, support, product, and design. It is lean and high-ownership. Everything built is measured against one bar: the fastest-growing, most beloved energy company in the world.
Our Values
First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles guide decisions, not rules.
Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
Everyone's an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a significant challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we are creating. Work is in-person. This is not a 9-to-5 role. We are all-in.
Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
Practical Notes
This role is based in Austin, Texas. The engagement is full-time. Compensation ranges from $180,000 to $240,000 USD per year. Please Do the best work of your life at Base.
