Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop efficient, performant, testable, scalable, secure, and high-quality client-side code.
- Provide accurate project status tracking, reporting, and estimations to stakeholders.
- Gather requirements and confirm team understanding to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Maintain relevant documentation for architecture, processes, and decisions.
- Execute tasks according to current methodologies while maintaining high quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and managers to understand user needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Manage projects from initial technical design through to successful launch and deployment.
- Lead the development of Python backend services on AWS to support clinical trial operations.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability.
- Architect Kubernetes-based infrastructure to support resilient and automated deployments.
- Ensure smooth cloud-to-cloud integrations for the BX platform connecting various services.
- Implement monitoring and logging strategies to maintain system health and observability.
- Optimize application delivery pipelines to improve speed and reliability of releases.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of clean code and best practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a full stack engineer building production systems.
- Experience engineering software systems of medium to large scope and complexity in regulated domains.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and iterative delivery practices.
- Proficiency with relational databases and SQL for complex queries and schema design.
- Experience building frontend and backend applications at scale with high availability requirements.
- Proficiency in the English language for clear communication and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of technical decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to debug issues in distributed systems.
- Willingness to adhere to strict compliance and quality standards in a clinical setting.
- Commitment to writing tests and ensuring code quality across the stack.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across time zones.
- Understanding of security best practices for handling sensitive clinical data.
