The role involves end-to-end ownership of features, meaning you will follow an initiative from the conceptual phase through to its full production deployment. You will be expected to mentor junior developers by providing constructive feedback during code reviews and technical discussions. What you'll do

• Architect and construct high-performance backend services using Python to meet strict business requirements.
• Conduct comprehensive security management by utilizing Software Composition Analysis tools to identify and remedify vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and communicate project health, generate accurate time estimates, and maintain up-to-date technical documentation for future reference.
• Interpret ambiguous business requirements and translate them into clear, functional software specifications and code.
• Synchronize effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers and managers, to ensure the final product addresses user needs comprehensively.
• Supervise the complete project lifecycle, ensuring alignment between initial design concepts and final production deployment.
• Evaluate pull requests and perform detailed code reviews to enforce coding standards and ensure consistency across the codebase.
• Optimize database interactions and API endpoints to reduce latency and improve the overall efficiency of the application stack.
• Implement and maintain integration points between various microservices to ensure seamless data flow and system reliability.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues by analyzing logs and debugging code to minimize system downtime.
• Stay current with industry best practices and propose improvements to the development workflow that enhance team productivity.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to define test cases and ensure the backend logic is robust and free of critical defects.
• Design scalable data models that support the evolving needs of the business and accommodate future feature expansion.
• Act as a technical lead for specific project modules, guiding the technical decisions and ensuring adherence to architectural principles.

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of 8 years of professional hands-on experience developing applications with Python, SQL, and REST APIs.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in using Git version control systems, specifically within platforms such as Github or Gitlab.
• Have a proven track record of writing unit tests and leveraging frameworks like Pytest to ensure code reliability.
• Show competence in creating intermediate-level designs using standard modeling techniques such as UML, C4, or ArchiMate.
• Have a background in developing complex, large-scale applications that involve both frontend and backend components.
• Be well-versed in Agile development methodologies and demonstrate experience working within iterative delivery cycles.
• Understand relational database management concepts and be able to write efficient queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Exhibit professional fluency in the English language, both written and verbal, to communicate effectively with global stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Have direct experience with Python web frameworks such as Flask to build RESTful services quickly.
• Have worked with orchestration and workflow automation tools like Apache Airflow or Automic Automation.
• Understand package management tools such as UV or Conda and their role in dependency resolution.
• Comprehend the fundamentals of HTTP protocols and data serialization formats including JSON and XML for effective API communication.
• Have hands-on experience with Software Composition Analysis tools like Snyk, Checkmarx, or Github Advanced Security.
• Have practical experience using AI coding agents such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude Code to augment development workflows.
• Possess a strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming principles and a deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
