As a Senior Software Engineer on the Spend Management team, you will play a critical role in developing and scaling a platform designed to help healthcare providers manage their spending effectively. Your work will involve creating self-service budget controls, financial visibility dashboards, and tools that enable providers to monitor and optimize their expenditures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to build reliable, scalable, and secure systems that support our mission of transforming healthcare payments and spending management.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and maintain core features of the spend management platform, including budget controls, spend visibility dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Collaborate with technical leads and product managers to design scalable and robust architecture for the platform, ensuring it meets the needs of healthcare providers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Design, and Analytics to understand requirements, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Build and enhance financial systems that track provider spending, enforce budgets, and generate insights, ensuring data accuracy and system reliability.
- Incorporate advanced generative AI tools into workflows to improve features such as spend recommendations, automated insights, and predictive analytics.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices, including documentation and adherence to coding standards.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
- Participate in technical planning, design discussions, and decision-making processes to shape the future of the platform.
- Ensure observability, monitoring, and alerting are integrated into systems to maintain high availability and performance.
- Advocate for security, compliance, and privacy standards, especially considering healthcare data sensitivity and potential ITAR considerations.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve development processes, automation, and deployment pipelines for efficiency and quality.
- Engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, demonstrate new features, and ensure the platform aligns with business goals.
- Stay current with industry trends, especially in financial technology, healthcare IT, and AI, to bring innovative ideas into the platform.
- Contribute to a culture of respect, inclusion, and continuous learning within the engineering team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience developing and deploying critical back-end services, with front-end skills applicable to .NET and AWS or similar object-oriented/cloud technology stacks.
- Proven experience in integrating generative AI tools into workflows to enhance product features and operational efficiency.
- Strong focus on building accurate, reliable, and secure financial systems that handle sensitive data and enforce budgets.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Familiarity with financial systems, spend management tools, or related platforms is a plus.
- Knowledge of healthcare data privacy, security standards, and compliance requirements is beneficial.
- Ability to design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance software solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and system optimization.

- Experience working with financial or budget management platforms, especially in healthcare or regulated environments.
- Knowledge of ITAR regulations or experience working on sensitive healthcare data and compliance standards.

- The salary range for this position is $173,800 to $233,000 USD, commensurate with experience and skills.
