About the role
In this position, you will be a key contributor to enhancing Zocdoc's People data capabilities by leading the development of analytics strategies, building scalable reporting systems, and creating data products that support decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with HR Business Partners, Recruiting, HRIS teams, and business leaders to identify needs, develop insights, and implement solutions that improve workforce management. Your work will involve designing advanced analytics models, leveraging AI tools to automate reporting processes, and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights that influence strategic initiatives. What you'll do
- Lead the development and implementation of the People data strategy, working collaboratively with HRBPs, Recruiting, and HRIS teams to establish standards for metrics, data models, and reporting practices.
- Build and maintain comprehensive datasets, dashboards, and analytical products that provide insights into various aspects of the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, engagement, performance, retention, and offboarding.
- Utilize generative AI tools to automate routine reporting tasks, synthesize large datasets, and improve overall efficiency within the People team.
- Design and develop scalable analytics products that can be used repeatedly and adapted over time to meet evolving organizational needs.
- Integrate data workflows across different teams to create a cohesive understanding of workforce trends, enabling cross-functional insights and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with HRBPs and People leaders to identify key workforce indicators, validate hypotheses, and translate data findings into strategic recommendations.
- Apply statistical, predictive, and prescriptive analytics techniques to support initiatives related to workforce planning, talent retention, diversity and inclusion, and organizational health.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant policies and regulations, working with stakeholders to improve data collection, storage, and access systems.
- Present complex data insights through visualizations, reports, and narratives that are accessible and compelling for non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Stay current with emerging trends in AI, data analytics, and HR technology to continuously improve analytics capabilities and tools.
- Lead efforts to document data processes, standards, and best practices to promote consistency and scalability across the organization.
- Support ad-hoc analysis requests and contribute to strategic projects that require deep data insights.
- Foster a data-driven culture within the People team by evangelizing the value of analytics and providing training or guidance on data literacy.
- Work closely with IT and data engineering teams to ensure systems are optimized for analytics needs and that integrations are seamless.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives to improve overall data governance and security, especially considering sensitive HR data.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in people analytics, workforce data analysis, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing scalable analytics products.
- A Master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related quantitative or social science discipline.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and Workday reporting, with experience in building dashboards and visualizations.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Looker and Snowflake is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in using generative AI tools to automate workflows, synthesize data, and enhance stakeholder engagement.
- Expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to differentiate between raw data and actionable insights, working effectively with People stakeholders to inform strategy.

- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences.

- Experience working in fast-paced environments, ideally within tech or startup settings.

- Experience working with additional HRIS systems beyond Workday.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance standards such as GDPR or similar regulations.
- Knowledge of additional data visualization or BI tools beyond Looker and Snowflake.
- Prior experience working in a high-growth startup or technology company.
- Understanding of ITAR regulations related to data security and export controls.

- This position is based on-site at our New York, NY office.
- The salary range for this role is between $145,000 and $170,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications.
