Position Overview

The Equity Accounting role at Zeta Global delivers end-to-end management of stock-based compensation. You will own the full lifecycle of equity transactions, ensuring U.S. GAAP aligned reporting and robust audit trails. This position requires close collaboration with HR and Legal to process grants, exercises, and cancellations accurately. You will convert complex accounting standards into clear, reliable reports that support external disclosures and internal decision-making.

This position is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is a full-time opportunity designed for a focused and detail-oriented professional.

Compensation Details

The fixed annual compensation for this role ranges from 18 to 22 lakh rupees per year. This package reflects the scope of responsibility and the expertise required to manage critical equity processes.

Key Responsibilities

You will establish and maintain comprehensive stock-based compensation schedules. These schedules will cover option grants, restricted stock units, ESPP awards, and performance-based equity awards. The role requires precise tracking and documentation of all equity transactions in strict accordance with ASC 718.

A core function is managing and reconciling the equity roll-forward. You will monitor shares outstanding, record exercises, track cancellations, and document forfeitures. This reconciliation ensures that system records remain accurate and trustworthy. You will also calculate and post monthly and quarterly journal entries, including stock-based compensation, with a focus on accuracy.

You will work directly with external equity platforms to validate and safeguard data integrity. Partnering with the HR team is essential to confirm grant details and validate compensation data. Collaboration with the Legal team ensures documentation completeness and resolves any discrepancies in grant terms.

The role includes testing internal controls related to equity transactions. You will assess control effectiveness to ensure compliance, traceability, and adherence to company policies. You will prepare detailed outputs for external audit review and respond promptly to auditor inquiries. Coordination with technology partners who manage equity platforms is another key duty to maintain data consistency across systems.

Required Qualifications

A strong technical understanding of stock compensation accounting is essential. You must be proficient in applying ASC 718 to diverse award structures and complex transactions. Candidates should bring two to five years of relevant accounting experience, with prior exposure to equity or compensation functions.

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is required, given the heavy reliance on spreadsheet models and reconciliations. Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail are non-negotiable. You must be able to communicate effectively across departments and meet strict reporting deadlines without compromise.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a public company or a large private equity environment is valued. This background provides context for regulatory expectations and the heightened scrutiny associated with external reporting.

Tools and Systems

The role centers on the use of MS Excel for modeling, analysis, and detailed reconciliations. You will use this tool to build accurate schedules, perform rollforward analyses, and support audit processes.
