What you'll do
Define and own the comprehensive end-to-end lifecycle for loyalty features, meticulously guiding each stage from initial business intake and requirements validation through rigorous production readiness and post-launch review.
Coordinate complex cross-team execution frameworks to ensure timely delivery of loyalty capabilities, resolving dependencies and aligning disparate engineering groups with the unified product vision and established platform standards.
Establish forward-looking architecture patterns and technical guardrails that specifically support core ZMP domains such as identity resolution, event streaming, multi-channel messaging, and seamless integration with the AI assistant.
Define the strategic product roadmap for loyalty and rigorously evaluate technical tradeoffs, influencing decisions around configurable rewards architectures, nuanced tiering structures, and accurate points tracking systems in close collaboration with key stakeholders.
Champion absolute reliability, deep observability, and comprehensive monitoring practices for all loyalty services operating within production environments, ensuring high availability and rapid issue detection.
Guide critical technical design reviews and architecture councils to enforce scalability, robust security postures, and unwavering consistency across the entire ZMP ecosystem and its integrated services.
Partner intricately with data science and analytics teams to validate intricate behavior tracking implementations and accurately measure tangible business outcomes for diverse loyalty program configurations.
Drive a culture of operational excellence, implementing automation and best practices so that loyalty workflows remain inherently stable, maintainable, and performant even under significant scale and usage growth.
Lead the professional coaching, continuous growth, and constructive technical feedback for engineers and technical leads embedded within your assigned squad, fostering a high-performance engineering environment.
Own the on-call rotation and accept full responsibility for the rapid diagnosis, mitigation, and resolution of production incidents affecting critical loyalty components and their dependencies.
Requirements
You must possess solid, demonstrable experience directing complex software projects that span multiple engineering teams and involve intricate technical dependencies.
You must have a deep, hands-on understanding of service-oriented architecture principles, including API contract design, data schemas, and sophisticated background job processing systems.
You must know how to architect and deliver systems that are reliably scalable, secure by design, and capable of handling sensitive identity data and high-volume messaging workloads.
You must have extensive hands-on experience with the Zeta Marketing Platform (ZMP), sophisticated identity management systems, and robust event-driven architectural patterns.
You must bring a minimum of five years of proven experience managing engineering personnel and making high-stakes technical decisions that directly impact production systems and business outcomes.
Nice to have
Prior, hands-on experience with AI agents, advanced predictive systems, and conversational platforms when integrated into complex product workflows is highly valued.
Skills and tools
Core expertise and daily usage of ZMP, AthenaOS, identity management frameworks, event-driven messaging, notification systems, loyalty program logic, advanced analytics, and production-grade observability tools is essential.
Practical notes
This role requires full-time engagement on a remote basis within the United States. The selected candidate will be expected to perform the duties outlined in the "What you'll do" section as part of their regular responsibilities.
