About the role
At Wellhub, the People Operations Director role is central to how we scale our culture and standards across Europe. You will own the end-to-end design and execution of people operations strategy as we grow rapidly. You will partner closely with global and local stakeholders to translate business objectives into people programs that drive engagement and retention. You will lead the development of policies, tools, and processes that create a consistent and fair employee experience across all locations. You will champion data-informed decisions to refine operations and demonstrate the impact of your initiatives. You will ensure that compliance, equity, and wellbeing are embedded in every process you touch. You will inspire your team through coaching, clarity, and a genuine commitment to people.
What you'll do
You will drive the strategy and execution of people operations for Europe, managing a high-performing team that delivers on critical initiatives. You will design, launch, and optimize end-to-end people processes including hiring, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and employee relations. You will establish clear policies and standards that ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance across all European jurisdictions. You will collaborate with Insights and HR Business Partners to analyze workforce data, identify trends, and recommend evidence-based improvements. You will automate and simplify workflows by evaluating, implementing, and integrating people tools and systems to enhance the employee journey. You will serve as a key partner to business leaders, providing counsel on organizational design, change management, and employee lifecycle issues. You will own the employee experience lifecycle, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects Wellhub's mission and values. You will champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that reinforce a culture of belonging and psychological safety. You will monitor regulatory landscapes in European countries and ensure all HR practices meet legal and compliance requirements. You will act as a thought leader in people operations, benchmarking best practices and introducing innovative approaches where appropriate. You will support the development of leadership pipelines through structured programs, feedback mechanisms, and succession planning. You will oversee budget management for the people operations function, aligning investments with measurable outcomes. You will facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure that people strategies are integrated with product, sales, and support objectives. You will act as an ambassador for the company culture, reinforcing transparency, curiosity, and care in every interaction.
Requirements
You bring 8+ years of progressive experience in people operations or HR leadership roles, with a strong track record of building and managing high-performing teams. You demonstrate expertise in people operations tools, systems, and process efficiency, including experience with HRIS, ATS, and performance management platforms. You have a deep understanding of employment law and compliance requirements across European countries where Wellhub operates. You are proven in managing complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivering on commitments. You possess a strong analytical mindset, comfortable using data to inform decisions, measure outcomes, and communicate results to stakeholders. You communicate exceptionally well in writing and verbally in English, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization. You embody a servant-leader mindset with a genuine commitment to developing talent, providing feedback, and fostering career growth. Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in Spain with remote flexibility. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Spain.
