About the role
You will own the end-to-end development and execution of Wellhub's global tax policy strategy in Brazil and across key international jurisdictions. This role requires you to act as the primary architect of our legislative advocacy agenda, ensuring that tax policy positions are robust, data-driven, and strategically aligned with the company's long-term business objectives. You will serve as the critical bridge between government authorities, industry stakeholders, and our internal business units, translating complex regulatory landscapes into actionable insights. What you'll do
Develop and implement comprehensive tax policy strategies that directly support Wellhub's corporate objectives and growth trajectory in the Brazilian market and globally.
Engage proactively with government authorities, industry associations, and key policymakers to advocate for favorable tax treatments and equitable regulatory frameworks.
Analyze and interpret emerging tax legislation, regulatory proposals, and international tax trends to assess potential impacts on operations, profitability, and compliance obligations.
Provide authoritative insights and clear policy recommendations to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making on strategic initiatives and investments.
Represent Wellhub in high-level discussions with tax authorities, regulatory bodies, and governmental agencies to ensure the company's interests are articulated effectively.
Conduct in-depth research on complex tax policy issues and synthesize findings into white papers, position statements, and concise policy briefs for internal and external consumption.
Collaborate closely with the legal, internal controls, and tax compliance teams to align policy strategies with practical implementation and risk management protocols.
Monitor global tax policy developments to evaluate economic and business implications, ensuring the organization remains agile and prepared for regulatory shifts.
Participate actively in industry forums, conferences, and multi-stakeholder working groups to influence tax policy decisions and shape the broader discourse.
Support the development of tax planning frameworks and compliance strategies that mitigate risk while optimizing the company's global tax position.
Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure tax policy initiatives are integrated with broader business strategies, including talent, technology, and operational goals.
Champion a culture of compliance and governance by providing clear guidance on tax policy best practices to internal stakeholders and partners.
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing tax policy positions and iterate based on feedback, regulatory outcomes, and evolving business needs.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external advisors and consultants to leverage third-party expertise in specialized tax policy areas.

Requirements
Demonstrate extensive experience in tax policy, government relations, or a related field within a corporate or public policy environment.
Possess a deep understanding of domestic and international tax frameworks, including direct experience with Brazilian tax legislation and regulatory authorities.
Show a proven track record of successfully engaging with government agencies, tax authorities, and industry associations on policy matters.
Exhibit strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to dissect complex legislative texts and translate them into clear business implications.
Have a history of developing and presenting policy recommendations to senior executives and decision-makers in a corporate setting.
Bring expertise in monitoring legislative and regulatory changes, with the ability to anticipate impacts on business operations and strategy.
Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build trust and influence stakeholders with differing priorities.
Hold a professional qualification in law, tax, finance, or a related discipline, with a strong academic background.

This is a full-time position based in São Paulo, Brazil, with a hybrid work model that requires periodic presence in the office.
