Key facts
What you'll do
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for various investment funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Perform daily reconciliations of cash and positions, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Calculate and process fund valuations, including net asset values (NAV), ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for clients, providing insights into fund performance and financial health.
- Collaborate with the investment team to ensure accurate recording of transactions related to trades, corporate actions, and income distributions.
- Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries regarding fund accounting practices.
- Monitor and analyze fund expenses, ensuring proper allocation and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting processes and systems, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
- Assist in the onboarding of new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and accurate setup of fund structures.
- Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance your skills and knowledge in fund accounting and related areas.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, providing exceptional service and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in fund accounting or a similar role within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools, with experience in Excel being essential.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fund accounting and financial reporting is a plus.
Nice to have
- Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience with fund administration software or systems.
- Familiarity with investment products and financial markets.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role is advantageous.
