About the role
Waystone is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President for our Fund Accounting and Private Equity Real Estate (PERE) division. This pivotal role will be based in Senningerberg, Luxembourg, and will involve overseeing our fund accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic leadership to our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our service delivery and client satisfaction while managing a diverse portfolio of funds.

What you'll do
- Lead and manage the fund accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting for a variety of private equity and real estate funds.
- Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies, to ensure smooth audits and compliance processes.
- Develop and implement best practices in fund accounting processes to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor and analyze fund performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to senior management and clients.
- Ensure that all fund accounting activities align with the company's strategic goals and objectives.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Manage client relationships, addressing inquiries and providing updates on fund performance and accounting matters.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new fund structures and investment strategies.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in fund accounting and reporting.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key performance indicators and financial insights.
- Lead special projects as assigned, contributing to the overall growth and success of the Fund Accounting/PERE division.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in fund accounting, with a focus on private equity and real estate.
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations applicable to private equity and real estate funds.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving performance improvements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in fund accounting software and advanced Excel skills; familiarity with other financial software is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Nice to have
- Experience with international fund structures and cross-border transactions.
- Knowledge of additional languages is a plus, particularly French or German.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in Luxembourg and other European jurisdictions.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role within a financial services environment.
