About the role

Waystone is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Associate to join our Financial Reporting team. This position is based in our Manila office located in Makati City and is a full-time engagement. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reports, contributing to the overall financial health of our organization. You will collaborate with various departments to gather data, analyze financial information, and prepare reports that meet regulatory standards and internal requirements.

What you'll do

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data and insights for reporting purposes.
• Conduct thorough analyses of financial results, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with local and international financial reporting standards, as well as internal policies and procedures.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Support the audit process by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from auditors.
• Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide training and guidance to junior team members on financial reporting best practices and tools.
• Participate in special projects related to financial reporting, including system implementations and process improvements.
• Monitor changes in financial regulations and standards, ensuring that the organization remains compliant.
• Assist in the development of internal controls to safeguard financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested by management to support business initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting or a similar role, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, including IFRS and GAAP.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting tools, such as Excel and financial management software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey financial information clearly to stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Experience with audit processes and compliance requirements is a plus.

Nice to have

• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are highly desirable.
• Familiarity with financial reporting software and ERP systems.
• Previous experience in a multinational corporation or financial services industry.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance issues relevant to financial reporting.

Skills & tools

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
• Familiarity with financial reporting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with various stakeholders across the organization.
