You will define and drive the technical roadmap for Voyager's Spectrum Dominance portfolio, serving as the senior technical authority for RF, electronic warfare, and sensing programs. You will lead the execution of complex, high-stakes research and development initiatives that translate advanced concepts into deployable mission-critical capabilities. This role requires you to architect complete end-to-end RF systems, bridging digital signal processing algorithms, software-defined radio hardware, and high-level mission software into seamless solutions. You will guide technologies from research through productization, ensuring that R&D investments yield tangible outcomes for warfighters. You will build and mentor a world-class engineering team while partnering with business development to shape and win major government contracts. This is a high-impact leadership position where your expertise will directly enable Voyager to deliver transformative solutions that protect lives and expand frontiers.

Bridge the valley of death by guiding technologies from TRL 3-6 research into robust, productized solutions ready for manufacturing and deployment.
Build and inspire a world-class engineering team, mentoring senior engineers and fostering a culture of technical rigor, creativity, and rapid iteration.
Partner with business development and capture teams to shape new opportunities, providing the technical foundation required to win major government contracts.
Champion end-to-end system architecture decisions that balance performance, reliability, and manufacturability across the signal chain.
Translate strategic objectives into executable R&D programs, aligning technical milestones with customer needs and program timelines.
Leverage deep expertise in RF, SDR, and algorithm development to solve difficult problems and create leap-ahead capabilities in spectrum dominance domains.
Act as the ultimate technical authority, ensuring that all efforts meet stringent government standards and contribute to mission success.
Drive innovation across SIGINT, EW, and radar domains, exploring new methodologies and technologies to maintain operational superiority.
Ensure clear communication of technical vision and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating alignment and informed decision-making.
Promote best practices in proposal development, contributing to technical volumes, cost estimates, and solution framing for competitive responses.
Support the evaluation and adoption of emerging tools, platforms, and methodologies that enhance program execution and productization efficiency.
Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and ethical responsibility in all technical and programmatic activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance (requires US citizenship).
Deep RF & Systems Expertise: Proven background in designing and developing complete end-to-end RF systems (both RF front-ends and digital subsystems). You understand the physics of the spectrum and the hardware required to dominate it.
SDR Proficiency: Extensive experience designing and developing complex software-defined radio (SDR) systems, including familiarity with modern transceiver architectures and FPGA/SoC platforms.
Algorithm Development: Strong track record in designing and developing complex digital signal processing (DSP) and RF Machine Learning (RFML) algorithms. You understand how to apply modern compute to solve traditional RF problems.
R&D Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams (Hardware, Software, RF, FPGA) through the full lifecycle of advanced R&D programs, from white paper to prototype.
Domain Expertise: Demonstrated background fielding capability in one of the relevant spectrum dominance domains: SIGINT, EW, or Radar.
Programmatic Execution: Familiarity with the unique challenges of government R&D contracting, including experience delivering against technical milestones for customers like DARPA, ONR, and AFRL.
Proposal Development: Proven proposal development experience, including contributing to technical volumes and cost estimations for complex government solicitations.
Nice to have
Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance.
Experience productizing advanced R&D into monetizable commercial motions, demonstrating a track record of turning science projects into shipping products.
Demonstrated history of leading winning proposals.
Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer sites, test ranges, and Voyager locations.
