About the role
You will own the end-to-end quality strategy and execution for Voyager's Space, Defense, and National Security segments, ensuring that every product delivered meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. You will define and drive a world-class quality management system that aligns with AS9100, ISO 9001, and all applicable FAA and customer requirements across the full product lifecycle. In this role, you will act as the primary quality leader responsible for embedding a culture of zero defects, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement into every team and process. You will oversee all quality functions from initial design reviews through final inspection, supplier quality, and field performance, ensuring traceability and accountability at every step. You will manage critical processes such as MRB, nonconformance handling, CAPA, and RCCA, driving them to closure with full traceability and systemic prevention. You will serve as the key interface with customers, regulators, and certification bodies, representing Voyager's commitment to operational excellence and compliance. Ultimately, you will be responsible for building the foundation that enables Voyager to scale with integrity, mitigate risk, and maintain the trust required for mission-critical programs.

What you'll do
Implement enterprise-wide quality strategies that align with aerospace and defense program requirements and regulatory expectations.
Lead the development, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of the company's Quality Management System to ensure conformance to AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer mandates.
Oversee quality performance across receiving, in-process, and final inspection, as well as supplier quality, returns, and warranty functions.
Serve as the primary liaison for customers, regulatory agencies, and certification bodies on all quality-related matters, ensuring clear communication and compliance.
Manage nonconformance, MRB, CAPA, and RCCA processes to ensure timely resolution, full traceability, and effective prevention of recurrence.
Establish, monitor, and report on key quality metrics to enable data-driven decisions and proactive risk management across all sites and functions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, efficiency, waste reduction, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Provide leadership and visibility into quality performance, fostering cross-functional collaboration and accountability across engineering, manufacturing, and operations.
Champion a culture of transparency, operational excellence, and continuous learning to elevate quality standards and organizational maturity.
Ensure that quality objectives are integrated with program schedules, cost controls, and technical deliverables to support mission success.
Lead audit preparation and response activities, including surveillance and certification audits, to maintain current certifications and approvals.
Partner with engineering and operations to embed quality into design and manufacturing processes, reducing variability and improving first-time quality.
Oversee the implementation of statistical process controls and other methodologies to ensure stable and predictable manufacturing outcomes.
Support the evaluation and qualification of suppliers, ensuring that quality systems and processes meet Voyager's standards before production release.
Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise to advance quality strategies across the organization and support growth initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
15+ years of experience in quality management within aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
10+ years of leadership experience managing quality teams.
Experience leading quality organizations across both QA and QC functions.
Strong knowledge of AS9100, FAA, DoD, and applicable regulatory and quality standards.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, special processes, and supplier quality management.
Experience implementing and managing QMS in regulated environments.
Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement and defect reduction initiatives.
Proficiency in root cause analysis, CAPA, and quality performance metrics.
Ability to travel up to 35%, including the possibility of overnights within our various company locations.

Nice to have
Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant technical discipline.
Experience leading quality organizations across multiple sites and geographies.
Familiarity with customer, regulatory, and certification audit processes at scale.
Experience working in defense or national security programs.
Practical notes
This position is onsite in the Denver Metro Area, CO.
Travel requirements include up to 35% travel, including possible overnights.
The good faith base salary range for this role is $240,000 - $290,000 at the time of this posting.
