About the role
You will serve as the technical authority and lead test director for major integration and qualification test campaigns for rocket motor systems and propulsion subsystems. You will develop and approve test strategies, architectures, and methodologies to meet complex program requirements while providing strategic leadership across multiple programs. You will oversee the design and validation of test systems, hardware, and software for SWIL, HWIL, and full-scale tests. You will guide root-cause investigations and lead technical review boards for test anomalies and post-test data assessments. You will represent the organization in customer and government reviews, presenting technical findings, risk mitigations, and test results. You will drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives in test design, instrumentation, data acquisition, and automation.

What you'll do
Lead test execution and define complex test campaigns as the senior technical authority for rocket motor and propulsion subsystem programs.
Develop and approve test strategies, architectures, and methodologies to satisfy stringent program requirements and regulatory frameworks.
Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent programs to ensure consistent test practices and compliance with company and industry standards.
Design and validate test systems, hardware, and software configurations for SWIL, HWIL, and full-scale test environments.
Guide root-cause investigations and chair technical review boards to assess test anomalies and validate post-test data findings.
Represent Voyager Technologies in customer and government review forums such as TRR and CDR, presenting technical results and risk mitigation strategies.
Champion continuous improvement by standardizing test design, instrumentation, data acquisition, and automation across programs.
Mentor, coach, and develop engineers at multiple levels to build technical depth and leadership within the test organization.
Collaborate with program management and systems engineering teams to integrate test activities into development plans and schedules.
Promote safety, reliability, and compliance in all test operations to ensure mission assurance and personnel protection.
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, digital test tools, and advanced modeling and simulation techniques to enhance test fidelity and efficiency.
Support proposal development and author technical content related to test and integration strategy for competitive pursuits.
Perform comprehensive test readiness reviews and validate that all test objectives, requirements, and acceptance criteria are clearly defined.
Analyze test data to identify performance trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process optimization and design improvements.
Requirements
Possess 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in test engineering for propulsion systems, aerospace hardware, or complex electromechanical systems.
Demonstrate technical leadership across large-scale integration and test efforts involving complex propulsion or aerospace systems.
Maintain recognized subject-matter expertise in test engineering for propulsion or aerospace systems with influence over technical direction.
Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills for interactions with executive leadership, customers, and external agencies.
Lead multidisciplinary teams through high-visibility, high-risk test campaigns that involve significant technical and schedule complexity.
Apply deep understanding of MIL-STD practices and aerospace qualification and acceptance testing across diverse programs.
Deliver results under demanding program conditions while preserving technical rigor, safety, and schedule adherence.
Employ strong program planning and systems-thinking abilities to align test strategy with broader program and organizational objectives.
Accumulate extensive hands-on experience in rocket motor or propulsion system integration, testing, and anomaly resolution.
Apply systems engineering and controls principles to ensure robust test architectures and full traceability to system requirements.
Commit to safety, mission assurance, and continuous technical improvement in every test activity.
Obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level, requiring U.S. Citizenship.
Lead complete test life cycles, including planning, design, execution, and analysis for development, qualification, and acceptance testing.
Lead large multidisciplinary teams and effectively manage multiple concurrent test efforts in dynamic environments.
Maintain extensive background in data acquisition systems, instrumentation, controls, and automation technologies.
Demonstrate deep understanding of environmental and structural test methods, including vibration, thermal, and static fire testing.
Have experience developing and qualifying test facilities or test infrastructure specifically for propulsion or aerospace applications.
Show demonstrated experience with configuration management, requirements traceability, and systems engineering integration.
Resolve complex test and integration issues in real time under high-stakes conditions while maintaining composure and technical accuracy.
