About the role
The operates at the intersection of design and data, owning the vision for highly addictive level experiences that keep players coming back. You are responsible for designing and creating engaging, challenging, and fun levels that maintain player interest and progression over the long term. This role requires a deep partnership with engineering and art teams to translate abstract design concepts into concrete, playable features that resonate with the target audience. You will analyze player behavior, game metrics, and direct feedback to identify specific opportunities for improvement and drive iterative enhancements. A core part of the position involves structuring, running, and monitoring A/B tests to validate every major design decision and optimize the player experience. You will balance game difficulty curves meticulously to ensure an appropriate challenge that maximizes retention across all levels and player segments. Staying up-to-date with hybrid-casual and puzzle game market trends, including analyzing competitor games and emerging mechanics, is essential for strategic relevance. You will rigorously test and playtest levels and features to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality, enjoyment, and performance. Finally, you will actively contribute to the product roadmap and strategic direction, ensuring that the Collect'Em All vision aligns with broader business and engagement goals.

What you'll do
- Participate in the design and creation of engaging, challenging, and fun levels that maintain player interest and progression across the entire game world.
- Develop and iterate on game mechanics and features that enhance the core gameplay loop, ensuring they are robust, enjoyable, and aligned with player expectations.
- Analyze player behavior, game metrics, and qualitative feedback to identify specific opportunities for improvement and drive data-informed design changes.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and artists to bring level designs and features to life, ensuring technical feasibility and visual fidelity are maintained.
- Structure, run, and monitor A/B tests to validate design hypotheses and optimize the player experience based on empirical evidence and behavioral data.
- Balance game difficulty curves systematically to ensure an appropriate challenge and retention across all levels, segments, and progression gates.
- Stay up-to-date with hybrid-casual and puzzle game markets by analyzing competitor games and emerging trends to identify new mechanics and opportunities.
- Test and playtest levels and features rigorously to ensure quality, enjoyment, and a seamless user experience before public release.
- You will contribute to the definition and refinement of the product roadmap and long-term strategic direction for the Collect'Em All portfolio.
- Work iteratively by rapidly prototyping new ideas and incorporating feedback from both the team and data to refine concepts quickly.
- Own specific level segments or feature areas, taking end-to-end responsibility for their design, implementation, and ongoing optimization.
- Translate high-level product goals into detailed design specifications that clearly communicate intent to cross-functional partners.
- Champion the player perspective within the team, ensuring that design decisions consistently prioritize enjoyment, clarity, and long-term engagement.
- Document design decisions and rationale to create a clear historical record that supports future iterations and new team members.
Requirements
- Possess + years of professional experience in game design, product specialist, or a similar role within the mobile gaming industry, with a track record of shipped titles.
- Demonstrate a strong passion for mobile puzzle and hybrid-casual games, coupled with a deep understanding of what makes them engaging, sticky, and successful in the market.
- Maintain an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify meaningful trends, and make data-driven design decisions under uncertainty.
- Show a solid understanding of player psychology, including what drives engagement, retention, and satisfaction specifically within puzzle and casual game contexts.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate design ideas, trade-offs, and rationales to cross-functional teams including engineering, art, and marketing.
- Embrace an iterative mindset with the ability to rapidly test, learn, and improve designs based on feedback from both peers and players in live environments.
- Be fluent in English, both written and verbal, to ensure clear communication with international team members and stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Bring prior experience with Unity or familiarity with common game development tools and pipelines to accelerate collaboration with engineering.
- Possess knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and best practices, including hypothesis formulation, metric selection, and result interpretation.
- Have a proven track record of shipping successful mobile games, with specific examples that highlight your role in design and delivery.
