About the role
The is a core member of the design team responsible for shaping the player journey from first tap to long-term retention. This role owns the end-to-end design of puzzles, ensuring each level is not only fun and visually appealing but also strategically aligned with business goals. You will be the guardian of the core gameplay loop, constantly questioning and refining the mechanics that define our mobile puzzle titles. Your work will directly influence millions of players by crafting moments of delight, challenge, and satisfaction. You will act as the bridge between creative ambition and technical execution, translating abstract ideas into concrete, testable level designs. This position requires a deep commitment to player-centric thinking and a hands-on approach to building engaging experiences. You will be accountable for the quality and performance of the puzzle content you deliver.

What you'll do
- Analyze player behavior, game metrics, and qualitative feedback to pinpoint specific improvement opportunities within puzzle mechanics and level flow.
- Structure, run, and monitor A/B tests to validate design hypotheses and optimize the player experience based on concrete data rather than assumptions.
- Balance game difficulty curves with precision to ensure an appropriate challenge that maximizes retention and minimizes player frustration or boredom.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and artists to translate level designs and interactive features into a polished, functional final product that meets technical constraints.
- Develop and iterate on game mechanics and features, constantly refining them to enhance the core gameplay loop and increase overall engagement.
- Participate actively in the design and creation of engaging, challenging, and fun levels that meet quality standards and strategic objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the evolving hybrid-casual and puzzle game market by analyzing competitor games and identifying emerging trends that could inform our design direction.
- Test and playtest levels and features rigorously to ensure they are not only enjoyable but also free of critical bugs and balance issues.
- Contribute to the product roadmap and strategic direction by providing data-driven insights and design proposals based on market and player analysis.
- Work iteratively and rapidly prototype game ideas, incorporating feedback from both the team and player data to arrive at the best possible design.
- Monitor key performance indicators related to puzzle difficulty, completion rates, and drop-off points to guide future iterations.
- Conduct qualitative research through player interviews or surveys to gain deeper insights into motivations and pain points.
- Ensure all level designs are scalable and sustainable, allowing for a steady flow of new content without compromising quality.
- Act as an expert reviewer for puzzle content, providing constructive criticism and actionable suggestions to peers.
Requirements
- Possess + years of professional experience in game design, product specialist, or a similar role within the mobile gaming industry.
- Demonstrate a strong passion for mobile puzzle and hybrid-casual games, backed by a deep understanding of the design principles that make them engaging and successful.
- Cultivate an analytical mindset capable of interpreting complex data sets, identifying meaningful trends, and making data-driven design decisions.
- Develop a profound understanding of player psychology and the specific factors that drive engagement, retention, and satisfaction in puzzle-based experiences.
- Maintain strong communication skills to clearly articulate design ideas, rationale, and trade-offs to cross-functional teams including engineering, art, and marketing.

- You need to be fluent in English to effectively collaborate with international teams and stakeholders.
