Senior Level Designer
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end level design lifecycle for one of Voodoo's top live mobile games, ensuring that every stage feels fresh, engaging, and aligned with long-term retention goals. You will act as both a hands-on creator and a strategic leader, defining how players progress through increasingly clever and challenging scenarios while respecting business expectations. You will partner with artists, engineers, and data analysts to translate abstract concepts into concrete, playable spaces that are polished, scalable, and fun. Your work will directly influence millions of players who encounter the unique personality of Hole.io through your carefully tuned layouts and pacing. You will also own the craft of level design by establishing clear guidelines, standards, and documentation that keep the team aligned. Over time, you will shape the direction of the Levels Pod by mentoring junior designers and elevating the overall quality of output. Finally, you will explore how emerging tools like AI can be integrated responsibly to accelerate iteration without sacrificing the human touch that makes the gameplay compelling.

Collaborate closely with artists, animators, and engineers to ensure that level designs are technically feasible, artistically expressive, and aligned with production constraints.
Test and balance levels thoroughly, using player behavior data and qualitative feedback to adjust pacing, difficulty, and reward structures to meet high quality standards.
Ensure every design decision respects the technical limitations and opportunities presented by the Unity engine and the live service architecture.
Help introduce and integrate an AI driven pipeline that enables the team to scale level production and streamline content generation workflows responsibly.
Act as an ambassador for data informed design by setting up experiments, interpreting results, and proposing adjustments that improve key engagement and retention metrics.
Support the studio in creating memorable seasonal moments and events that refresh the experience for existing players and attract new users.
Champion best practices in version control, naming conventions, and asset management to keep the level pipeline robust and understandable.
