Viotas is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineering Manager to lead our dynamic team in Krakow. What you'll do
- Lead and manage a team of embedded software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster professional growth and development.
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of embedded software applications, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, product managers, and quality assurance, to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Establish and maintain project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the software development process, implementing agile methodologies and promoting a culture of innovation.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating relevant advancements into the team's projects and strategies.
- Facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments, ensuring alignment on project goals and expectations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for software design, implementation, and testing processes.
- Manage relationships with external partners and vendors, ensuring that all software components meet quality and performance standards.
- Act as a technical expert and point of contact for embedded software-related inquiries, providing support and guidance to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all software development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in embedded software development, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Python, with a strong understanding of embedded systems architecture.
- Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller programming.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Experience with version control systems, such as Git, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
Nice to have
- Experience in the energy sector or related industries, particularly in energy management systems.
- Knowledge of IoT technologies and their application in embedded systems.
- Familiarity with safety-critical software development and relevant certification processes (e.g., ISO 26262).
- Previous experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles as they pertain to embedded systems.

- Familiarity with hardware-software integration and testing methodologies.
