What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable backend services using modern programming languages and frameworks, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for new features and enhancements.
• Develop and maintain APIs that facilitate communication between various components of our energy management platform.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and maintain high code quality across the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner, providing support to other team members as needed.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Implement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to streamline the development process.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending improvements and innovations that align with our strategic goals.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, helping to shape the future direction of our technology stack.
• Collaborate with product management to prioritize features and enhancements based on customer feedback and market demands.
• Document technical processes and systems to ensure clarity and understanding across the engineering team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend and full stack engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js, with a solid understanding of their ecosystems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including but not limited to PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and experience deploying applications in a cloud environment.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development, with the ability to create efficient and secure interfaces.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, enabling you to contribute to the full stack development process.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Knowledge of energy management systems or experience in the energy sector is a plus.
• Previous experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to challenges.
