This position involves leading a high-performance team within a dynamic startup setting. The role serves as a connector between complex software environments-including Cloud, Embedded, and Controls-and mechanical and electrical engineering realities. It is suited for a leader comfortable with shifting priorities and eager to engage in deep technical discussions with multi-disciplinary partners to build the future net-zero carbon grid.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of integrated software solutions, working closely with Cloud, Embedded, and Controls teams to ensure seamless system performance.
- Navigate high-velocity environments by making technical trade-off decisions, driving project accountability, and maintaining focus on critical company milestones and product roadmaps.
- Participate in deep-dive technical sessions with embedded and hardware engineering partners to foster mutual learning and integrated design excellence.
- Recruit, mentor, and scale an engineering team capable of solving complex problems in the IoT, Automotive, or Energy sectors.
- Champion scalable engineering workflows, drive bug triage, and manage validation planning to protect delivery timelines while upholding high technical standards.
- Lead the planning and alignment of software roadmaps to ensure synchronization with broader business objectives.
- Provide regular, concise updates to executive leadership regarding project status, roadmap milestones, and technical risks.
Qualifications
- Possess a strong foundation in Cloud architectures (AWS or GCP) and Embedded software, with the technical fluency to bridge these domains and lead cross-functional architectural discussions.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to build and lead high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams of full-stack engineers. Experience managing the entire device-to-cloud lifecycle is essential for ensuring robust, scalable, and secure connectivity between edge devices and backend systems.
- Have experience managing multiple scrum teams, including distributed or hybrid workforces across multiple timezones, with a focus on communication and alignment in complex, multi-site environments.
- Bring a proven track record in the IoT, Automotive, or Energy/Utility industries, with a deep understanding of sector-specific challenges.
- Show the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities while maintaining a focus on high-velocity delivery.
- Hold a track record of building and mentoring high-performing, full-stack engineering teams.
- Communicate clearly with executive leadership, translating technical risk into concise updates.
- Approach collaboration with mechanical and electrical disciplines to achieve integrated hardware goals.
