About the role

Via is using technology to transform transportation around the world. From changing a single person's daily commute to reducing humanity's collective environmental footprint - we've got huge goals. As a , you will work to improve mobility by forging new partnerships with public transit providers through thoughtful, exceptionally-written proposals. You will own the end-to-end development of high-stakes, competitive procurement submissions in partnership with the Strategy, Partnerships, Expansion, and Finance teams. The role requires you to translate complex product specifications into clear, persuasive narratives that align Via's technical and operational strengths with the distinct challenges and goals of transit agencies. You will be responsible for researching global mobility trends, distilling insights into compelling commentary, and coordinating review cycles to ensure consistently high-quality output. Ultimately, your work will directly influence how cities and transit agencies understand and adopt Via's shared mobility solutions.

What you'll do

Lead competitive procurements from initial discovery through final submission, coordinating content, reviews, and approvals across internal stakeholders.

Hone your strategic thinking skills by working with the Strategy Team to develop approaches for winning large-scale, competitive public procurement opportunities.

Absorb complex product specifications and translate them into clear, easily-digestible prose that meets the precise requirements of transit agencies and public sector evaluators.

Generate compelling original content by identifying a potential partner's needs and aligning them with Via's technology, operational capabilities, and the latest innovations in urban mobility.

Conduct rigorous research on global mobility trends by analyzing news stories, new service announcements, scopes of work, and industry reports, then synthesizing findings into insightful commentary.

Skillfully manage communications with potential partners over phone and email, maintaining a professional tone and responsive cadence throughout multi-stage processes.

Support senior team members during interviews and meetings with cities and transit agencies, contributing written materials and context as needed.

Coordinate cross-functional input to ensure proposals reflect accurate pricing, operational assumptions, and compliance considerations.

Synthesize feedback from legal, finance, and technical teams to refine narrative clarity, compliance, and persuasiveness before final submission.

Maintain an organized repository of proposal components, version histories, and partner responses to support efficient updates and future reuse.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of proposal templates, playbooks, and style guides to elevate the quality and consistency of future submissions.

Identify gaps in requested information and proactively seek clarification to ensure proposals are complete, accurate, and aligned with evaluation criteria.

Leverage your academic and professional background to frame arguments that resonate with public sector decision-makers and procurement officers.

Act as a subject matter expert on written communication within the transportation and mobility space, mentoring junior colleagues when appropriate.

Requirements

Meticulous and strategic; you can pay attention to every detail in a complex project while, at the same time, relating each of them to the big picture in a coherent way.

An exceptional writer and communicator with an instinctive appreciation for tone and structure; your colleagues have told you that they enjoy reading your work (and maybe you've even won awards).

Socially-minded, action-oriented, and passionate about urbanism; you understand the importance of public transit and are motivated to improve worldwide access to mobility.

Able to quickly switch gears to coordinate with teams across the company and team members from associate-level to C-suite.

An academic high-achiever, preferably in the humanities, social sciences, or another field that requires regular long-form writing and argumentation (undergraduate degree required; advanced degree preferred).

It's a plus if you have created and published an original and thoughtful essay, op-ed, or other piece of content; bonus points if it is on the subject of technology, transit, urbanism, mobility, business strategy, or a related topic.

It's a plus if you have led (or played a leading role in) the development and success of a business or public sector proposal/pitch/deal/etc.

It's a plus if you have prior experience at a startup, transportation consulting firm, management consulting firm, or in the public sector.
