VP, Partnerships - France & Benelux
Job description
About the role
Cross-functional alignment shapes regional strategy, market positioning, and execution.
Sales roles connect a company's product with the customers who need it. Representatives research accounts, run demos, handle objections, and close deals. The work is quota driven and moves quickly. Strong sellers combine listening skills with product knowledge and steady follow through. Sales roles reward consistent activity and honest qualification of deals. Most companies use a defined sales process, and reps are trained on it before being left on their own.
Key facts
What you'll do
High-performing commercial teams are led and inspired to focus on customer success.
Tailored offerings are designed, innovation is driven, and competitive advantage is maintained to meet market needs.
Discourse and collaboration beyond internal operations are shaped to extend influence.
The competitive landscape is actively researched. Market, product, and pricing trends are identified and succinctly shared with key stakeholders so that regional mobility strategies remain one step ahead.
Requirements
The posting states a bachelor's degree requirement. Fifteen or more years of experience in sales, business development, or strategy is required in enterprise, government, infrastructure, or tech-enabled services. A background in public transport or mobility is a strong plus to contextualize solutions.
Fluency in French and English is required, and Dutch language skills are highly desirable. A degree is necessary to meet the role's expectations and navigate complex environments.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive revenue growth in complex, regulated markets is essential.
Exceptional strategic thinking balances long-term vision with short-term execution. Strong commercial acumen supports this balance to achieve sustainable growth.
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills engage C-level executives, government officials, and diverse stakeholders. Persuasion guides interactions with public authorities and partners.
Building and maintaining trusted partnerships in the public sector navigates procurement, funding, and policy landscapes. Mastery of these processes is required to succeed in regulated settings.
Commercial intuition and judgment know when to push and when to yield. Maximizing the value of a potential deal defines decision-making and prioritization.
Persistence drives growth-focused processes despite setbacks. Building high-value relationships over time requires resilience and adaptability.
Frequent travel across the region, comprising 25 to 50 percent of time, is required. Partner and stakeholder meetings form the core schedule to maintain strong presence.
Practical notes
The position is based in Paris and requires a degree. The role involves frequent regional travel and engagement with public authorities and private operators. Typical interview steps
Sales hiring often includes a role play, a discovery call simulation, and a presentation. Candidates may be asked to pitch a product to a panel or handle a tough objection. Behavioral questions focus on past quota attainment and deal history. Energy and preparation matter. Interviewers often simulate the job in the interview itself, so be ready to run a short discovery call or demo. Practicing your own sales pitch out loud helps.
Good to know
Questions to ask
Good questions to ask the employer in the interview: what does success look like in the first six months, how is the team structured, what is the current biggest challenge, and how are decisions made. Asking about growth paths and the review process is also well received. Employers expect questions, and good ones show preparation.
Career growth
Sales careers can move from SDR or associate to account executive, senior AE, manager, and director roles. Some sellers move into partnerships, account management, or revenue operations. Compensation typically mixes a base with commission tied to results. High performers in sales typically move into larger accounts, team leadership, or sales operations. Quota history and references carry the most weight in promotion.
