About the role
Verkada is hiring a Technical Content Architect to lead the creation and ongoing refinement of technical training materials for internal Solutions Engineering teams and external channel partners. This position blends presales engineering knowledge with instructional design expertise, requiring regular field engagement to ensure content reflects actual selling and system design scenarios. You will report into the SE organization and work closely with Product, Marketing, Channel, and Support teams.

What you'll do
- Lead the full content lifecycle for SE and partner technical enablement: assess needs, design curricula, write materials, deliver training, measure results, and refine based on feedback
- Build and maintain learning tracks for the Verkada Certified Engineer (VCE) program, the Presales Design Engineer certification, and future accreditation initiatives
- Produce scalable resources such as technical playbooks, solution design guides, competitive battle cards, demo scripts, configuration walkthroughs, and reference architectures
- Convert complex product features, networking principles, and system design topics into accessible content for audiences ranging from experienced security integrators to IT-focused VARs
- Manage a content calendar tied to product launches, feature releases, and partner program milestones
- Spend time in the field alongside internal SEs and partner SEs to observe real sales and design discussions, spot skill gaps, and uncover unmet training needs
- Run a structured feedback loop with SE leadership, Channel Sales Managers, and partner technical contacts to keep content priorities current
- Perform needs assessments across partner types including traditional physical security integrators, IT VARs, national system integrators, and regional specialists to develop segment-specific enablement
- Track the competitive landscape and refresh materials to articulate Verkada differentiation against Genetec, Hanwha, Axis, Avigilon, and other key players
- Act as the technical enablement lead for the partner ecosystem, ensuring integrator and VAR SEs can position, design, and demonstrate Verkada solutions confidently
- Design and deliver live and on-demand training sessions, workshops, and webinars for partner audiences at varying technical levels
- Create onboarding curricula for new partner SEs to accelerate their ramp time
- Collaborate with Channel Sales and Partner Programs to embed enablement into partner lifecycle activities such as onboarding, tiering, QBRs, and recognition programs like Vanguard
- Work with SE leadership to close knowledge gaps across the internal SE team, focusing on new product readiness, advanced solution design, and competitive positioning
- Develop SE-facing technical briefs, FAQ documents, and hands-on lab guides ahead of general availability releases
- Contribute to internal programs including boot camps, SKOs, and ongoing certification tracks
- Define and monitor KPIs linking enablement to business outcomes: certification completion rates, partner-sourced pipeline, time-to-first-deal, and content engagement metrics
- Use LMS platforms, surveys, and field input to evaluate learning effectiveness and iterate on content
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Networking, Engineering, Communications, or a related discipline
- 5 or more years in solutions engineering, presales, technical enablement, or technical content development at a B2B technology company
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and Layer 2 devices
- Proven ability to turn complex technical concepts into clear written and visual content for varied audiences including internal teams, technical integrators, and IT generalists
- Experience designing and delivering structured training programs, certification curricula, or technical learning paths
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with comfort presenting to small partner groups and large internal audiences
- Proficiency with LMS platforms such as Docebo or TalentLMS, e-learning tools like Articulate 360 or Camtasia, and presentation software
- Solid project management abilities to handle multiple content workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines at once
Nice to have
- Background in physical security, video surveillance, access control, or related fields such as building automation, IoT, or smart buildings
- Hands-on experience enabling channel partners, integrators, or managed service providers
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Highspot, Seismic, or similar sales enablement and content management platforms
- Knowledge of cloud-based security platforms and SaaS go-to-market approaches
- Industry certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, AWS Solutions Architect, PSP, CPP, or equivalent
- Video editing, multimedia production, or graphic design experience for technical content
