This Solutions Engineer role in Perth is critical to expanding Verkada's footprint upmarket into Fortune 500 companies. You will partner directly with Account Executives and act as the trusted technical advisor to key stakeholders, including CTOs, CISOs, IT Executives, Security Engineers, Network Engineers, and Heads of Physical Security. The position requires analyzing business and technical requirements, overcoming technical objections, assisting in designing deployments with Verkada products, and providing technical assistance to territory account reps. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, able to learn quickly, work independently, and deliver impactful results. This is a remote role that requires candidates to be based in Perth, Western Australia, with 25% travel required.

What You'll Do

You will be the trusted technical advisor to key customer stakeholders: CTOs, CISOs, IT Executives, Security Engineers, Network Engineers, Head of Physical Security, and similar roles. You will utilize your technical expertise to understand and analyze customer requirements to formulate and design system solutions. Collaboration with the Sales team is essential to assess and qualify customer opportunities, translating business needs into clear specifications that contribute to effective technical solutions.

A core responsibility involves leading product demonstrations and delivering engaging presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will act as the Verkada technical Subject Matter Expert, working closely with other departments such as Product, Support, Marketing, and Enablement. The role demands demonstrating mastery of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VLANs to address complex infrastructure questions. You will translate intricate customer requirements into coherent technical designs that align with Verkada's privacy-sensitive platform objectives. This includes articulating the value of integrated video security, access control, and IoT sensors to protect people and places effectively. You will leverage agentic AI capabilities within the Verkada platform to showcase proactive security measures and operational efficiency to prospective clients.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Information and Computer Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related Engineering degree from an accredited university is mandatory. Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and L2 devices. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with effective presentation abilities, are required. Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail are essential.

An entrepreneurial and positive attitude with a strong desire to learn is crucial. Experience working with IT infrastructure, Linux operating systems, APIs, Python, and other coding languages is preferred. Industry certifications are considered a plus, including Network+, Security+, CCNA, and AWS Solutions Architect. You must be based in Perth, Western Australia, as this role is currently remote but requires residency in that location.
