About the role
You will act as the primary technical authority for the Verkada suite within the SouthCentral Region, owning the technical narrative from initial discovery through complex enterprise deployments. In this capacity, you will directly collaborate with Fortune 500 account teams to architect solutions that align Verkada's cloud and AI capabilities with intricate physical security and operational objectives. You will serve as the principal technical consultant, de-risking sales cycles by validating feasibility and designing robust implementations that scale. This role requires you to synthesize complex product functionalities into clear, compelling value propositions that resonate with executive and technical stakeholders alike. You will proactively identify and neutralize technical objections, ensuring that proof points are established early to build confidence in the Verkada platform. Success in this position will be defined by your ability to translate customer business challenges into secure, reliable, and innovative camera, access control, and sensor deployments. You will own the end-to-end technical customer journey, driving adoption and expansion within strategic accounts through trusted advisory relationships.

What you'll do
Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions with C-level and operational leaders to map Verkada solutions to specific business risk and process improvement goals.
Serve as the primary technical consultant for large-scale deployments, designing cloud architecture, network topologies, and storage strategies that meet enterprise resilience requirements.
Own the resolution of complex technical objections by leveraging deep product knowledge of Verkada's video security, access control, air quality sensors, alarms, intercoms, and visitor management features.
Collaborate closely with territory account executives to build and present tailored solution designs that clearly articulate ROI and operational efficiency gains.
Lead proof-of-concept and pilot programs that de-risk adoption, demonstrating Verkada's agentic AI capabilities in real-world security and loss prevention scenarios.
Articulate the value of Verkada's privacy-sensitive approach to data handling and AI usage to compliance and legal stakeholders during enterprise evaluations.
Coordinate with internal engineering and product teams to gather requirements and provide feedback that shapes the future roadmap for the SouthCentral region.
Represent Verkada at industry events, technical workshops, and customer briefings to position the platform as the leader in Physical AI.
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for deployments, ensuring consistency and knowledge transfer across the sales cycle.
Mentor junior engineers and solution architects, elevating the technical practice through shared learnings and best practices derived from enterprise engagements.
Travel extensively, exceeding 50% of time, to support customer engagements, partner meetings, and on-site assessments across domestic and international locations.
Maintain a pipeline of technical opportunities by qualifying leads and ensuring that solution fit is established early in the procurement process.
Act as a trusted advisor to loss prevention and IT leadership, aligning Verkada's technology with enterprise security programs and governance frameworks.
Drive adoption metrics and health checks post-deployment, ensuring that clients realize the full value of their integrated security and IoT ecosystem.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, with a proven track record of working with Fortune 500 companies.
Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills in order to clearly and efficiently articulate technical matters with customers and partners.
Bachelor's degree in relevant technical or security field from an accredited university.
Strong background in Networking: HTTPS, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, NAT devices, DHCP and Firewalls.
Ability to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation and discipline in a remote-first or hybrid environment.
Comfortable with frequent travel, including both domestic and international destinations, with an estimated commitment of more than 50% of time.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for this position.
Experience interfacing directly with enterprise customers and translating business needs into technical requirements.
Strong understanding of security concepts, including video surveillance, access control, sensors, alarms, and visitor management systems.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, quota-influenced environment.

Experience working with Active Directory, SAML/SCIM, API's, Python, and other coding languages is a plus.
