About the role
Verkada seeks a Solutions Engineer in Sydney to serve as a trusted technical advisor within the highest levels of enterprise organizations. You will own the technical narrative of Verkada's integrated, privacy-sensitive AI-powered platform, ensuring stakeholders fully understand how video security, access control, and air quality sensors converge into a unified solution. This role requires you to analyze complex business and technical requirements, overcome sophisticated objections, and translate executive needs into clear deployment strategies. You will directly interface with customers, partners, and technical stakeholders throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial discovery to final implementation. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to learn quickly, and work independently while driving impactful results for both the customer and the company. You will be a key enabler of upmarket expansion into Fortune 500 companies, leveraging your expertise to de-risk technical decisions and accelerate adoption.

What you'll do
- Serve as the primary technical advisor to CTOs, CISOs, IT Executives, Security Engineers, Network Engineers, and Heads of Physical Security for strategic deployments.
- Analyze intricate customer requirements and formulate robust system solutions that align with Verkada's cloud-native architecture and AI capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with Sales teams to assess and qualify opportunities, translating ambiguous business needs into precise technical specifications.
- Lead high-impact product demonstrations and deliver engaging presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and precision.
- Act as the Verkada technical Subject Matter Expert, working in tandem with Product, Support, Marketing, and Enablement to refine go-to-market strategies.
- Design and validate deployment architectures that optimize Verkada devices, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance within customer environments.
- Provide deep technical guidance on TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and L2 devices to overcome complex network integration challenges.
- Leverage scripting and automation skills, particularly with APIs and Python, to streamline proof-of-concept activities and improve efficiency.
- Support the creation of detailed technical documentation and proof-of-concept results that reinforce the Verkada value proposition.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and playbooks that empower Account Executives to succeed in highly competitive deals.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Information and Computer Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related Engineering degree from an accredited university.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, and L2/L3 networking fundamentals.
- Exhibit outstanding written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Maintain excellent account management abilities, with strong follow-through and meticulous attention to detail.
- Possess an entrepreneurial and positive attitude, coupled with a strong desire to continuously learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Bring experience working with IT infrastructure, Linux operating systems, APIs, and scripting languages such as Python.
- Value industry certifications including Network+, Security+, CCNA, and AWS Solutions Architect as indicators of professional commitment.
- Thrive in collaborative settings while also operating effectively with a high degree of independence and ownership.
