Senior Software Engineer, Autopilot

About the role

You will your AI engineering skills to develop innovative user-facing features that enhance our platform's capabilities for coding agents and Autopilot. Autopilot is an AI assistant designed to assist UiPath users by enabling faster automation development through natural language interactions, predictions, and recommendations. Your responsibilities will include building scalable, high-quality software components that improve user experience, automate processes, and support the platform's growth. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain features that empower users to create automations more efficiently and effectively, ensuring the platform remains at the forefront of AI-enabled automation solutions.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement full-stack features for Autopilot, primarily using TypeScript, Python, or C#
• Ensure the performance, responsiveness, and overall quality of your code meet high standards
• Identify performance bottlenecks, bugs, and issues within the platform, devising effective solutions to address them
• Participate in planning, designing, developing, and testing new software systems or features aligned with product goals
• Maintain and improve code quality, organization, and automation practices across the development team
• Collaborate closely with small, nimble, cross-functional teams including product managers, marketing, and other engineering teams to deliver platform updates and new features
• Architect a modular, reusable codebase that can evolve with the product and accommodate future enhancements
• Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation efforts to ensure high standards of quality and maintainability
• Support deployment, monitoring, and operational activities for Autopilot features, ensuring stability and reliability in production environments
• Engage in continuous learning and knowledge sharing to stay updated on AI advancements, programming best practices, and platform improvements
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues reported by users or identified through internal testing processes
• Contribute to the development of automation tools and scripts to streamline development workflows and improve efficiency
• Work within Agile development methodologies, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery of features
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment
• Help define technical standards and best practices for the team to ensure consistency and quality across the platform

Requirements

• Over 6 years of professional experience in software development, with a strong background in coding and production-level projects
• Proven expertise in TypeScript (or JavaScript), Python, and/or C#
• Deep understanding of object-oriented programming principles and architectural design patterns
• Ability to quickly translate functional and UX requirements into working, scalable solutions
• Experience with multithreading, asynchronous programming, and synchronization techniques
• Familiarity with test frameworks, continuous integration, and automated testing practices
• Solid knowledge of data structures such as lists, vectors, stacks, and heaps, along with algorithms like sorting and searching, including their time and memory complexities
• Demonstrated experience in building scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering solutions
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working effectively within cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment

Nice to have

• Previous experience working as a software engineer on an AI product, especially involving natural language processing or AI integration
• Some familiarity with prompt engineering techniques and AI model tuning
• Experience with automation platforms, cloud services, or deployment pipelines
• Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards relevant to enterprise software
• Understanding of UI/UX principles to contribute to user-centered design improvements
• Exposure to legal, marketing, or growth-related software components, given the tags associated with the role
