About the role
You will own the end-to-end strategy, design, and governance of Trustly's total rewards ecosystem. This role requires you to architect the compensation philosophy and translate it into tangible programs that motivate the organization. You will shape the reward narrative to align with our aggressive growth objectives and security-first mindset. Your work will establish the framework that determines how we pay, reward, and retain top talent in a competitive market. You will act as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on all matters related to workforce rewards. This includes analyzing the impact of business pivots on our reward structures and long-term cost implications. You will ensure that our practices promote fairness, transparency, and compliance across all global operations. Compensation: Base salary range is 180,000 USD to 220,000 USD. The 2025 target bonus is 15%. The 2025 target long-term variable is 20%.
What you'll do
- Conduct a comprehensive audit of Trustly's existing total rewards architecture to identify gaps and opportunities for strategic enhancement.
- Analyze complex internal and external compensation datasets to determine optimal pay positioning relative to the competitive fintech landscape.
- Design and establish the foundational principles that will govern Trustly's equity and long-term incentive programs globally.
- Develop and maintain advanced analytics dashboards that visualize total reward spend, mix, and employee outcomes for leadership review.
- Partner with Finance and HR to model the financial impact of various compensation scenarios during budget planning and strategic forecasting.
- Create clear, actionable guidelines for managers to ensure consistent and fair decision-making regarding pay increases and promotions.
- Lead the coordination of annual global pay review cycles, aligning stakeholders on methodology, timelines, and deliverables.
- Monitor emerging trends in the talent market and competitor reward strategies to recommend preemptive adjustments to our offers.
- Build robust frameworks for tracking the effectiveness of reward programs and their impact on retention and performance metrics.
- Champion transparency by developing communication tools that help employees understand how rewards are determined and their personal standing.
- Oversee the governance of equity grant practices, vesting schedules, and associated tax considerations to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to simulate the business outcomes of different compensation strategies and investment levels.
- Establish a methodology for evaluating the return on investment of our total rewards strategy against business objectives.
- Drive the evolution of the compensation philosophy to support Trustly's growth stages and changing business needs.
Requirements
You must possess a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in compensation design or reward management within a professional services environment. You need a demonstrated ability to handle pay structures, equity programs, and the behavioral implications of reward decisions. You should be highly proficient in analyzing datasets and translating complex findings into practical guidance for business leaders.
You must have the capability to communicate intricate reward concepts clearly and concisely to both HR specialists and C-level executives. You need to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining meticulous records. You must be comfortable making decisions that balance competitive positioning with strict financial discipline. You need to understand the legal and regulatory considerations that impact global reward programs. You should be proactive in identifying risks and ensuring that all reward practices adhere to company policies and external regulations. You need to be comfortable working within a structured framework while driving process improvements. You must be able to manage sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality and integrity.
Nice to have
Experience in a high-growth technology company handling global reward programs is valued. Familiarity with Open Banking or financial technology ecosystems is preferred.
