Trustly is on the lookout for a Payroll Manager to take charge of comprehensive payroll operations across designated global regions. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Global Payroll Director and will be responsible for leading a dedicated team. A key focus will be on transitioning from a fragmented payroll system to a cohesive global payroll platform, ensuring efficiency and compliance throughout the process.

What you'll do

• Lead and inspire a payroll team that specializes in European operations, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Oversee the transition of payroll services from various providers to a centralized global platform, ensuring a smooth and efficient migration process.
• Manage the payroll cycle for salaries, bonuses, and commissions, while ensuring adherence to local tax laws and labor regulations.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls, standard operating procedures, and ensure timely statutory filings.
• Conduct payroll accounting tasks, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries, to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to streamline data management and enhance vendor relationships.
• Address and resolve employee payroll inquiries promptly, while also supporting internal and external audit processes.
• Stay updated on payroll legislation changes and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance across all regions.
• Develop and implement payroll metrics and KPIs to monitor team performance and operational efficiency.
• Provide training and support to team members, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed.
• Act as a point of contact for payroll-related queries from stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and resolution of issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in payroll management, demonstrating a solid understanding of payroll processes.
• At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role, showcasing your ability to lead and develop a team.
• Proficiency in using global payroll platforms, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and compliance.
• In-depth knowledge of compliance issues, risk management strategies, and reconciliation procedures.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and challenges.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in the FinTech or technology sectors, which would provide valuable insights into industry-specific payroll challenges.
• Familiarity with the HiBob payroll system, enhancing your ability to manage payroll operations effectively.
• Experience with financial software such as NetSuite and Concur, which can streamline payroll and expense management processes.
• A background in managing payroll transformation initiatives, demonstrating your capability to lead change effectively.
• Knowledge of multiple European payroll regulations, which can aid in ensuring compliance across various jurisdictions.
