Fraud Analyst
Job description
About the role
The Futures is responsible for safeguarding the integrity of funded trading programs through vigilant oversight and proactive intervention. You will own the day-to-day detection, investigation, and resolution of fraudulent and abusive trading behavior across the platform. This role demands a deep understanding of prop firm dynamics and funded trading mechanics to identify and mitigate emerging threats. You will directly protect the capital allocated to traders and preserve the trust that legitimate participants place in our ecosystem. This position is ideal for someone who wants to apply hands-on market knowledge to the design and execution of a robust fraud program. You will work at the intersection of risk, compliance, and trading operations to ensure a fair and secure environment for all users. Your work will have immediate and measurable impact on the stability and reputation of the platform.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Monitor accounts, evaluations, and payout requests for fraud typologies specific to funded trading, including multiple or duplicate account creation, evaluation-passing services, account handoffs, copy trading, cross-account hedging, and coordinated abuse rings.
- Investigate flagged accounts end-to-end by reviewing trade history, device and session data, KYC and identity documentation, and payment information to reach a documented conclusion.
- Analyze transaction and trading patterns to proactively surface new or emerging fraud trends before they scale across the user base.
- Tune and calibrate fraud detection rules and thresholds, run small-scale tests, and document new typologies as they are identified through ongoing monitoring.
- Partner with Risk, Payments, Customer Support, and Engineering to close gaps that enable repeat fraud and to implement system or policy improvements.
- Prepare clear, well-documented case files and escalate complex or high-dollar cases with a recommended course of action for leadership review.
- Run post-incident reviews and maintain fraud typology and audit trail documentation to support internal controls and regulatory inquiries.
- Communicate calmly and professionally with traders during disputes, account reviews, and payout holds to uphold the integrity of the process.
- Collaborate with data teams to build queries that extract relevant signals from large volumes of trade, account, and transaction data.
- Contribute to the development of playbooks and standard operating procedures that formalize responses to identified fraud scenarios.
- Track key fraud metrics and present findings to stakeholders to guide strategic decisions on risk appetite and program rules.
- Support ad hoc analysis related to new product launches, market expansions, or changes in trading infrastructure that may introduce new risk vectors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, criminal justice, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience in a professional setting.
- Previous experience at a proprietary trading firm, funded trading platform, or futures/derivatives brokerage - you understand how evaluations, funded accounts, and payouts work in practice.
- 1-3+ years of experience in fraud, risk, or trust & safety analysis, ideally within fintech, trading, or payments environments.
- Strong pattern recognition skills and comfort digging through large volumes of trade, account, and transaction data to detect subtle anomalies.

- Clear written communication and meticulous case documentation habits to ensure continuity and compliance.
- Sound judgment and composure when handling sensitive disputes and high-stakes decisions that affect trader outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple investigative threads simultaneously in a fast-paced remote environment.
- Willingness to follow established procedures while remaining adaptable to new fraud techniques and evolving platform features.
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of trader information at all times.
Nice to have

- Familiarity with device intelligence, identity verification, or fraud case management tooling used in fintech environments.
- Direct experience with futures, forex, or CFD trading products and an understanding of how leverage, margining, and settlement interact with risk.
- Exposure to chargeback or payment dispute handling in a fintech environment, particularly where payout integrity is contested.
