Senior Product Designer

About the role

The owns the end-to-end design of critical product areas from initial business goal to shipped production interfaces. You will independently scope ambiguous opportunities, define the solution hypothesis, and drive discovery to validate assumptions before committing to design. This role requires running stakeholder conversations, aligning cross-functional partners, and making definitive UX and UI decisions without waiting for detailed direction. You will be responsible for owning full product areas as the design team scales, including running continuous discovery within those domains. The position demands a strong partnership with engineering and product to move concepts from ideation to implementation. You will use AI tooling strategically to accelerate workflows while understanding its limits for future hands-on shipping capabilities. This is a high-ownership role for a senior designer ready to lead and make a direct impact on the platform.

What you'll do

• Take a business goal or opportunity and independently scope it into shippable work across discovery and design.
• Run your own discovery by talking to users, analyzing data, and identifying the real problem before moving to design solutions.
• Attend and run stakeholder meetings, representing design and driving alignment without needing a detailed brief.
• Find the right solution first, then make it beautiful, ensuring UX decisions are grounded in business outcomes and user needs.
• Design and ship production-quality UX and UI across web and native product surfaces for the futures trading platform.
• Use AI tooling where it accelerates your process, and know where it does not, with enough front-end awareness to collaborate on shipping.
• Partner closely with engineering, product management, and other designers to move work from concept to shipped execution.
• Bring an evidence-based orientation by reaching for data and research as a primary input during the design process.
• Own the design of complex workflows for commodities, equity indices, currencies, and interest rate products.
• Define interaction patterns and interface standards that scale across the product as new features are added.
• Validate design decisions through usability testing and iterate based on observed user behavior and stakeholder feedback.
• Lead discovery sessions that inform product roadmaps and ensure design is solving the highest-value problems.
• Translate ambiguous business requirements into clear design opportunities and actionable product specs.
• Mentor junior designers by providing hands-on guidance on design execution and decision-making.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience, with a track record of owning problems end-to-end from discovery through shipped solutions.
• Strong UX judgment grounded in business context, finding the right solution before focusing on making it beautiful.
• Evidence-based orientation with hands-on experience using data, research, or analytics as part of the design process.
• Comfortable and curious working with AI tools, with enough front-end conceptual understanding to grow into shipping directly with AI over time.
• Genuine care for product design as a craft, demonstrated through a consistent and high-quality design output.
• Proven ability to run stakeholder meetings and drive alignment independently, without needing a detailed brief every time.
• Experience designing for complex financial products and understanding the demands of professional trading environments.
• Strong communication skills to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with motion and micro-interaction design to enhance usability and user engagement.
• Native app design experience for iOS and Android in addition to web platforms.
• Interest in or curiosity about trading and financial markets, including how futures products are structured and executed.
