About the role
You will own the end-to-end financial planning cycle for Lead Bank, owning the integrity of our budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling processes from data ingestion to executive presentation. This role requires you to develop and maintain sophisticated financial models that translate complex operational data into clear strategic narratives for leadership decision-making. You will act as a key business partner, working directly with heads of various departments to understand their drivers and challenges, ensuring that financial insights are embedded into their planning. A core part of this position is building and enhancing the FP&A tooling and automation that underpins our analysis, ensuring efficiency and reliability as we scale. You will perform rigorous variance analysis to uncover the root causes of financial deviations, providing actionable recommendations to the executive team. This role demands a high level of ownership over data quality, implementing robust quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness across all financial inputs. You will be responsible for documenting all models, assumptions, and methodologies to create clear institutional knowledge and ensure transparency for stakeholders. What you'll do
Analyze financial performance and prepare detailed reports to communicate findings and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and synthesize data required for comprehensive financial planning and forecasting initiatives.
Develop, maintain, and iterate on financial models to support strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and multi-scenario analysis.
Build and enhance cashflow planning processes and analytics to improve accuracy and efficiency of liquidity management.
Perform in-depth variance analysis to identify financial discrepancies, investigate root causes, and deliver insights that inform corrective actions.
Design and implement cost allocations and profitability analytics to provide visibility into the true cost of operations and product lines.
Ensure data accuracy and completeness through systematic data cleansing and rigorous quality assurance procedures.
Document financial models, assumptions, and processes to ensure transparency, auditability, and preservation of institutional knowledge.
Collaborate with product and operational leaders to translate business objectives into financial plans and measurable targets.
Support the development and improvement of FP&A tools and methodologies, leveraging technology to streamline reporting and analysis.
Prepare ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support timely decision-making on strategic initiatives and operational changes.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support the broader finance organization and evolving business needs.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
Assist in the execution of special projects that require advanced financial analysis and complex problem-solving.
Champion data integrity and governance across all financial planning activities to ensure reliable insights.
Drive the creation of clear and concise financial narratives that align with business strategy and stakeholder expectations.
Requirements
Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field as the foundational academic qualification for this role.
Bring 4-6 years of progressive experience in FP&A, with demonstrated background in Banking or Fintech environments preferred.
Possess hands-on experience building and maintaining complex financial models to support planning and strategic initiatives.
Demonstrate skill in analyzing financial data to identify trends, patterns, and key insights that drive business decisions.
Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel as a primary tool, with additional skills in dedicated FP&A software like Vena and the use of AI software preferred.

This role is based in New York, NY, operating under a hybrid work model that balances in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.
