What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on job sites to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.

- Lead safety training sessions for employees and subcontractors, ensuring that all personnel are aware of safety protocols and emergency procedures.

- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training sessions, and compliance documentation, preparing reports for management review.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees and management.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in safety management, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Foster a culture of safety by promoting awareness and encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
- Coordinate with external safety consultants and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
- Assist in the development of project-specific safety plans and ensure they are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
- Participate in safety committees and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety practices within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in safety management, preferably within the construction or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Proven experience in conducting safety training and developing safety programs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CHST, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
Nice to have
- Experience with environmental health and safety (EHS) management systems.
- Familiarity with construction project management software.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a safety team.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
