What you'll do
- Lead and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, timelines, and resource allocation, adjusting as necessary to meet changing project demands.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met and quality standards are upheld.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners, to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management and clients, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and implementing cost-saving measures where possible.
- Identify and resolve potential project risks and challenges proactively, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and stored in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
- Participate in the bidding process by preparing proposals and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and enhance project delivery.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials, along with relevant safety regulations.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar applications.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey project information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes.
- Familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) and other advanced construction technologies.
- Previous experience in client-facing roles, particularly in managing client expectations and relationships.
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in the Denver area.
