What you'll do

• Oversee the entire claims process, from initial assessment to resolution, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers to gather necessary documentation and evidence to support claims, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
• Analyze claims data to identify trends and potential risks, providing insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on claims status and outcomes for internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Negotiate settlements with clients and subcontractors, aiming for fair and equitable resolutions that protect the company's interests.
• Maintain comprehensive records of all claims activities, ensuring that documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Serve as a liaison between the company and insurance providers, facilitating communication and ensuring timely responses to claims inquiries.
• Conduct training sessions for project teams on best practices for claims management and risk mitigation strategies.
• Stay informed about industry developments, legal changes, and best practices in claims management to enhance the company's processes.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to claims management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting related to claims expenditures and recoveries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in claims management, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, claims processes, and risk management principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate effectively.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Nice to have

• Certification in claims management or risk management (e.g., CCM, ARM) is a plus.
• Experience with construction litigation or dispute resolution processes.
• Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations affecting construction claims.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is advantageous.
