What you'll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality control plans tailored to specific projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish quality benchmarks and performance metrics, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned on quality expectations.
- Review and analyze project documentation, including plans, specifications, and contracts, to ensure that quality requirements are clearly defined and met.
- Provide training and guidance to project staff on quality control procedures and best practices, fostering a culture of quality within the organization.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues that arise during construction, working closely with subcontractors and suppliers to implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on quality control activities, findings, and recommendations, presenting these to senior management and project stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and advancements in quality control methodologies, integrating new practices into the company's processes as appropriate.
- Facilitate communication between various departments to ensure that quality control measures are understood and implemented effectively across all teams.
- Participate in project meetings, providing insights on quality performance and contributing to discussions on risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the development of quality-related policies and procedures, ensuring that they align with the company's overall objectives and compliance requirements.
- Foster relationships with external regulatory bodies and industry organizations to stay informed about changes in quality standards and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and quality standards, including familiarity with relevant codes and regulations.
- Proven ability to conduct inspections and audits effectively, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, with a focus on documentation and record-keeping.
Nice to have
- Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001) or a related field.
- Experience with Lean Construction principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Familiarity with construction project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera).
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a quality control context.
