Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead and manage MEP projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors, ensuring that all MEP installations are performed to the highest standards.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, budgets, and schedules, to provide transparency and accountability.
- Facilitate communication among project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any concerns promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Participate in project meetings and presentations, providing updates on project status, challenges, and milestones.
- Implement best practices in project management and MEP systems to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies within the MEP division.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP project management within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing MEP projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building codes, and construction practices.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar applications.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey project information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency.
- Familiarity with budgeting, estimating, and cost control processes in construction projects.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
- Experience with sustainable building practices and energy-efficient systems.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its application in MEP design and coordination.
Skills & tools
The ideal candidate will be proficient in various software tools and technologies relevant to project management and MEP systems. This includes, but is not limited to, AutoCAD, Revit, and other design and modeling software. Familiarity with construction management platforms and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting will be advantageous. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications are essential for success in this role.
