What you'll do
- Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction sites to assess adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare detailed reports on quality control findings and present them to senior management, highlighting trends and areas of concern.
- Train and mentor team members on quality control practices, fostering a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
- Review and approve material submittals and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality control and construction processes.
- Participate in project meetings to provide insights on quality-related issues and contribute to project planning and execution.
- Work closely with safety personnel to ensure that quality control measures align with safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist in the development of project quality plans and ensure they are communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related inquiries from clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control or assurance within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in quality management systems and tools, such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with construction safety regulations and practices.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
Nice to have
- Certification in Quality Control or Quality Assurance (e.g., CQI, CQA).
