What you'll do
- Analyze project data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in project performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project dashboards and reports that provide insights into key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with project managers and teams to establish and monitor project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Assist in the preparation of project forecasts and financial analyses to support informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all project controls processes.
- Conduct regular audits of project data to ensure accuracy and integrity, addressing discrepancies as needed.
- Facilitate training sessions for project teams on the use of project control tools and methodologies.
- Support the implementation of new project management software and tools, ensuring integration with existing systems.
- Participate in project meetings to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for improving project execution.
- Assist in the development of project control procedures and best practices to enhance overall efficiency.
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior management to communicate project status and performance metrics.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in project controls to continuously improve processes and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project controls, data analysis, or a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with construction processes, methodologies, and industry standards is a plus.
Nice to have
- Certification in Project Management (PMP, CAPM) or Project Controls (AACE, PMI-SP) is highly desirable.
- Experience with cost estimating and financial management in construction projects.
- Knowledge of advanced data visualization techniques and tools.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction principles and practices.
- Previous experience in a role that involved direct interaction with clients and stakeholders.
Skills & tools
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
