Key facts
What you'll do
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on various types of industrial machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures, implementing effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
- Assemble, install, and align machinery and equipment according to specifications and blueprints.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify areas for improvement in equipment efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory to support operational efficiency.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of machinery.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster a skilled workforce.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring that all systems are operational and meet quality standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency repair requests, demonstrating a strong sense of urgency and commitment to operational continuity.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a millwright apprenticeship program is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field, with a strong focus on mechanical systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as electrical components related to machinery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between job sites.
Nice to have
- Certification in industrial maintenance or a related field, such as a journeyman millwright certification.
- Experience with CNC machinery and automation systems.
- Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies and methodologies.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
Skills & tools
The ideal candidate will possess a diverse skill set, including mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting abilities, and a strong understanding of industrial machinery. Proficiency in using tools such as wrenches, drills, and diagnostic equipment is essential. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) will be advantageous, as will experience in implementing safety protocols and best practices in an industrial environment.
