What you'll do
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
- Manage the full recruitment cycle, from job postings and screening candidates to conducting interviews and extending job offers.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related matters, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and conflict resolution.
- Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company and a comprehensive understanding of company culture and expectations.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance employee skills and promote professional development.
- Implement and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Monitor employee performance and facilitate annual performance review processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, making data-driven recommendations to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives, ensuring employees are informed and satisfied with their options.
- Lead initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace, fostering a culture of respect and belonging.
- Coordinate employee engagement surveys and focus groups to gather feedback and implement actionable changes based on employee input.
- Stay current with HR best practices and legal requirements, ensuring the company remains compliant and competitive in the job market.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on generalist functions.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and EEOC guidelines.
- Proven experience in recruitment and talent acquisition strategies, with a track record of successful hires.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to analyze data and generate reports.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification from a recognized HR organization (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred but not required.
Nice to have
- Experience in the construction or related industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with employee engagement tools and platforms.
