What you'll do

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's operational goals and project timelines.
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to identify equipment needs and specifications for upcoming projects.
• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings based on quality, price, and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies.
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality of equipment.
• Manage the procurement budget, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
• Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, including cost savings and supplier performance metrics, to senior management.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in equipment procurement to enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure the timely delivery of equipment to job sites, minimizing downtime.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of suppliers, equipment specifications, and procurement history for future reference.
• Train and mentor junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in the procurement process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry.
• Proven track record of successful negotiations and contract management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier performance and market conditions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with construction equipment and industry standards is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with suppliers and visit job sites as needed.
