What you'll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to achieve company growth objectives and increase market share in the construction sector.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and relationship-building with potential clients and partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and project management, to create tailored proposals and presentations that meet client needs.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Lead negotiations and close deals with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with company goals.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities, adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on business development activities, pipeline status, and market insights.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent The Weitz Company and promote our services.
- Mentor and guide junior business development staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.

- Engage with stakeholders at all levels, including architects, engineers, and government officials, to build a robust network that supports business growth.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to business development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in business development or sales within the construction or related industry.
- Proven track record of successfully securing new business and managing client relationships.
- Strong understanding of construction industry trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing and mentoring teams.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, industry events, and site visits.
