What you'll do
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to enhance The Weitz Company's market position and achieve financial growth.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching market trends, analyzing competitors, and understanding client needs.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry influencers, to drive collaboration and business opportunities.
- Lead proposal development efforts, ensuring that all submissions are tailored to meet client specifications and showcase The Weitz Company's capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and project management, to align business development initiatives with organizational objectives.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify potential areas for expansion and innovation within the company's service offerings.
- Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities, performance metrics, and market insights to senior management.
- Attend industry conferences, networking events, and trade shows to represent The Weitz Company and promote our brand and services.
- Mentor and guide junior business development staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
- Develop and manage budgets for business development initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize return on investment.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and partners, ensuring favorable terms that align with company objectives.
- Drive the implementation of CRM systems and tools to enhance tracking of leads, opportunities, and client interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the construction or real estate industry.
- Proven track record of successfully securing new business and achieving sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the construction industry, including project delivery methods, contract types, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience managing teams and driving collaborative efforts across departments.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
