About the role
In this role you will exercise Engineering Leadership on a daily basis and serve as a primary technical authority for complex system initiatives. You will work directly with hydraulic system designers to develop, review, and approve circuit and system design packages for both new and existing projects ensuring alignment with performance and safety targets. The position requires close collaboration with the hydraulic systems team to integrate hydraulic and electric systems into cohesive solutions that meet demanding operational requirements. You will develop and mentor engineering team members through coaching, technical guidance, and professional development to elevate the overall capability of the department. The role involves supporting Wig #1 call activity to connect engineering team members with key customers and strategic opportunities that drive business growth. You will also support Wig #2 efforts focused on building and strengthening the engineering team through process improvement and resource development. A core responsibility includes leading key performance improvement activities across the engineering team to enhance efficiency, quality, and delivery reliability. You will work with hydraulic system designers on their weekly priorities to ensure alignment, resolve design conflicts, and maintain aggressive project schedules.

- Work closely with Manufacturing to develop standard labor costs for assembly activities and improve predictability.
- Work closely with purchasing to identify standard suppliers, components, and costs to streamline procurement.
- Lead efforts for continuous improvements to the designs of standard power system products.
- You will implement Engineering Best Practice across design activities and documentation standards.
- Work with other engineering groups within the organization to help drive enterprise wide technical initiatives.
- Work with the hydraulic system designers on their weekly priorities to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Apply systematic thinking to solve complex problems that span mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic domains.
- Utilize advanced analysis methods to validate system performance against critical requirements and constraints.
- Communicate technical proposals and design decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in cross functional reviews to ensure designs are manufacturable, serviceable, and supportable.
- Champion the use of digital tools and simulation to reduce risk and accelerate design validation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality mandates.
- Contribute to the development of long term technical roadmaps that support strategic business objectives.
- Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting difficult integration challenges in the field.
