Compensation: $75,000.00 per year What you'll do Drafting precise electrical schematics with CAD software for client systems. Generating detailed bills of material aligned with project specifications. Calculating labor and fabrication hours to define accurate project budgets. Producing formal client proposals that outline scope and associated costs. Verifying order acceptance and ensuring compliance with company terms. Submitting electrical drawings for client review and managing requested revisions. Coordinating component procurement and tracking vendor pricing and delivery. Developing installation manuals and operational guides for completed systems. Requirements You must read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams. You must create electrical designs using AutoCAD modeling software. You must assess project scope and determine necessary labor resources. You must communicate effectively with clients and manufacturing staff. You must travel occasionally, sometimes overnight, with a valid driver's license. You must maintain a clean and organized workspace. Nice to have Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. One year of project management experience in manufacturing. Practical notes This role requires occasional evening work and weekend travel. Eye and hearing protection may be required in manufacturing areas. Carotek represents over 85 manufacturers as their process equipment distributor, representative, and repair center for pumps, blowers, heat exchangers, valves, instrumentation, IIoT, steam, hydronics and municipal products. Essential functions detail To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. You will review client Request for Quote documents, including Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, process descriptions and equipment specifications. You will develop a Bill of Material in accordance with client specifications. You will research and solicit component cost and availability. You will work with Electrical Systems staff to develop electrical scope of work. You will assess labor hours required for design and fabrication. You will develop total system cost and selling price and review with management. You will produce formal proposal to client including detailed descriptions of scope of work. You will review and verify acceptance of client order in accordance with company Terms and Conditions. You will specify equipment through vendors in accordance with client specifications and submit for approval. You will produce Electrical Drawings with CAD modeling software. You will participate in design review meetings as required. You will submit drawings for approval to client and address changes upon request. You will submit components for purchase to Purchasing Administrator. You will interact with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing or design issues. You will manage fabrication of project through close coordination with client, Shop Manager, Quality Manager and other staff. You will manage FAT Testing in accordance with client specifications. You will interact with client regarding scope, schedule and requesting of information as needed. You will interact with vendors regarding component selection, pricing and delivery. You will develop Installation, Operation and Maintenance manuals for project. You will coordinate with purchasing, quality, sales, production and accounting personnel. You will advise Manager of work status, workload, problems and progress related to work assignments. You will communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in an effective, professional and courteous manner. You will ensure company policies and procedures are followed, safe working conditions are maintained and safety procedures are followed. You will maintain clean and organized work area. Position details This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel expectations Occasional travel is expected, which may require overnight stays and weekends. Ability to transport self to various facility sites as required. If using own motor vehicle, must possess a valid state driver's license, acceptable driving record and proof of insurance that meets the minimum standards of the state. Education and experience expectations Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from a four-year College or University; or equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum one year project management or design experience, and one year in manufacturing or fabrication environment utilizing CAD modeling software. Understanding of materials, control panel design, process flow and Piping & Instrument Diagrams. Work environment description This job operates in a professional environment where there is ambient room temperature and lighting as typically found in an office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, scanners, printers, calculators, etc. The noise level is usually moderate. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing and shipping/receiving areas where, under certain areas, the noise level is high; may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, foot and or hearing protection.
