Integration Group Manager

About the role

You will provide overall leadership and accountability for the Solutions Group, overseeing the successful execution of systems projects from concept and design through implementation, commissioning, and customer acceptance. You will lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing solutions team while fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement. You will partner closely with Sales to define project scope, schedules, and pricing, and to develop accurate cost estimates and competitive proposals. You will drive the growth and profitability of the solutions business by ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer expectations. You will support the expansion of the Solutions portfolio and guide the integration of emerging technologies. You will act as a key owner of customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business through reliable execution. You will champion a culture of innovation while maintaining rigorous standards for quality and safety in all solutions delivered. You will serve as the primary escalation path and strategic advisor for complex systems challenges across the business.

What you'll do

Establish cross-functional alignment by facilitating structured workshops that bring together engineering, sales, and operations to validate solution architectures.

Architect and own the end-to-end integration strategy for complex automation systems, defining interfaces, data flows, and control logic.

Evaluate and select automation components, ensuring that chosen technologies meet performance, scalability, and lifecycle cost criteria.

Lead the development of detailed engineering documents, including specifications, logic diagrams, and sequence of operation narratives.

Coordinate with controls engineers to translate functional requirements into executable code and configuration packages.

Implement robust verification and validation processes that confirm system behavior against defined project requirements.

Champion the adoption of standardized tools and methodologies to improve consistency and reduce implementation risk.

Drive continuous improvement by analyzing project post-mortems and integrating lessons learned into future solution designs.

Mentor junior team members through hands-on coaching, code review, and guidance on best practices in automation integration.

Represent the Solutions Group in client meetings, providing technical leadership and building confidence in project execution.

Collaborate with procurement and supply chain to manage long-lead equipment and ensure timely delivery of integration components.

Own risk registers and issue resolution plans, proactively identifying potential threats to project timelines and budgets.

Support proposal development by creating technical narratives that clearly communicate value, feasibility, and return on investment.

Ensure all delivered solutions comply with relevant industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory obligations.

Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, translating technical complexity into actionable insights and decisions.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.

You must have a minimum of ten years of experience in automation systems integration, controls engineering, or a technically focused solution leadership role.

You must demonstrate a proven track record of managing complex projects from initial concept through successful commissioning and customer acceptance.

You must have hands-on experience with industrial automation platforms, including programmable logic controllers, human-machine interfaces, and supervisory control systems.

You must be proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical layouts, electrical schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.

You must have strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift and deadlines are firm.

You must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, as this role requires immediate onsite presence at the Exton, Pennsylvania location.

Nice to have

Experience with robotics, machine vision, and motion control technologies is highly desirable.

Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems and digitalization initiatives adds significant value.

Background in supporting local manufacturers with emerging technology adoption is preferred.

Experience coaching and developing technical teams in a professional services environment is an advantage.

Knowledge of cost estimation methods specific to automation solutions is beneficial.

Practical notes

This role is full-time, requiring a standard forty-hour work week with flexibility to address critical business needs outside regular hours when necessary.

Travel is not required for this position, ensuring a consistent presence at the Exton site.
